It had been decided earlier that the husband and wife duo of Atanu Das & Deepika would represent India at the mixed event. In Friday’s classification round, Pravin Jadhav finished ahead of Atanu – so now it will be Jadhav and Deepika who will play the MIXED event.

Their first MATCH will be against a team from Chinese Taipei.

Qualification: starts at 6:00 am IST

Participant: Elavenil Valarivan

Elavenil Valarivan quickly became one of India’s top rifle shooters, winning several international medals. Entering the squad as a replacement for Chinki Yadav, Valarivan is currently ranked number one in the Tokyo Olympics rankings and is ranked number 12 in the world according to the 2021 rankings.

The 21-year-old is the only Indian contingent shooter to have secured the Olympic spot without winning a quota. The young shooter was rewarded by the federation for her consistency.
