Arab table tennis championship: Qatar team leaves for Jordan

Doha: The players and officials of the Qatar table tennis team left yesterday for Amman, Jordan, to participate in the Arab championship which will take place from today.

The 13-day championship is hosted by the Arab Table Tennis Federation, led by Khalil Al Mohannadi, who is also president of the Qatari Table Tennis Association (QTTA) and first vice-president of the International Tennis Federation of table (ITTF).

Ali Sultan Al Muftah, Deputy Secretary of QTTA, is the Head of the Mission in Jordan. The squad includes Ahmed Khalil Al Mohannadi, Ahmed Muthanna Al Awlaki, Mohamed Abdel Wahhab, as well as several other players.

The women’s delegation is led by Noura Al Abri and includes Chinese coach Sully and players Maha Ali Flamerzi, Maha Ali, Maryam Ali and Shawq Al Abdullah.

Thani Al Zaraa, Director of National Teams at QTTA, confirmed that participating in this edition of the Arab Championship will be very difficult, especially after the long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic as all Arab teams and clubs strive to succeed and aim for the podium places.

“However, our chances are also good and we are also doing our best to achieve exceptional results, especially since we have prepared well over the past few months. We have held training camps in Qatar and the foreigner in view of this event, “Al Zaraa said. .
