Manipur judokas are preparing to participate in the “World Junior Judo Championship”
Four Manipur judokas and their coach are all set to compete in the 2021 World Junior Judo Championship to be held in Olbia, Italy.
The four-member team and their coach have already left for the championship, which starts October 6-10.
These four judokas consist of – Laishram Jagadish, who will compete in the men’s 66 kg weight class; Linthoi Chanambam in the women’s weight category 57 kg, Rebina Chanambam in the women’s category 70 kg and Laishram Roshni Devi in the women’s category over 78 kg.
Laishram Roshni Devi has participated in several championships including: Asia-Oceania Cadet 2021 Championships, Asian Cadet Cup Macau 2018, Asian Cadet Championships 2018.
Meanwhile, Rebina Chanambam has already participated in championships, namely – Macao Cadets Asian Cup 2018, Asian Cadet Championships 2018.
Laishram Jagadish, who will compete in the men’s 66kg category at the World Junior Championships, has already competed in the first tournament of the 2019 Asia-Oceania Junior Championships.
While Manipur’s female coach is Oinam Rameshwori Devi.
It is relevant to note that the Indian team for the championship consists of up to 14 players in all as well as two coaches.
