Oba Oginni and Fadulu win ITC FATOIL Badminton Doubles Championship – The Sun Nigeria
Sports passionate, HRH Olatunde Oginni and head table, Toba Fadulu became the champions of the FATOIL badminton doubles championship after the final duel at the badminton section of Ibadan Tennis Club (ITC) on Monday.
The badminton event was organized to celebrate and commemorate the birthday of Otunba Olusola Omole, the section captain.
Oba Oginni, owner of the defunct Flogin Football Club, paired Toba Fadulu to overpower Bamidele Ogunrinola and Oluseyi Kayode-Adedeji in the doubles competition inside the indoor badminton court at ITC Iyaganku, Ibadan.
The celebrant, Otunba Omole, also played a ceremonial match before the final game as part of activities organized to entertain the friends and supporters who came in large numbers to celebrate with him.
Oba Oginni, in his remark after the award, praised the celebrant for his love for the development of badminton and prays that he will witness it for many years to come.
Ibadan Tennis Club President Prince Oluwole Peter Akinyoye also praised the celebrant for his selfish disposition towards the section and the club in general.
Otunba Omole, in his remarks, thanked everyone who contributed to the huge success recorded at the competition while pledging to keep the tournament as an annual event to commemorate his anniversary.
Medals and prizes were awarded to the winners at the end of the event while many gifts were shared with club members and guests who graced the event.
