Pac-12 bowl projections: Site puts Pac-12 team in college football playoffs

Our seven college football experts agree USC or UCLA will be the Pac-12’s representative in the Rose Bowl, but one site has offered a startling projection that a Pac-12 team will be involved in the college football playoffs. .

Even more surprisingly, the team chosen to reach the national semi-final is neither USC nor UCLA.

The College Football News site predicts that Oregon – yes, the Oregon team that lost its opening game 49-3 to Georgia – will earn a spot in the Fiesta Bowl, which is one of the of the CFP semifinals, and will face Ohio State with a berth in the national championship game on the line.

Five of the seven sites selected USC as the conference’s Rose Bowl team, while two placed UCLA there. All seven predicted that Michigan would be the Pac-12’s Rose Bowl opponent.

Two pundits predicted Cal would get a bowl offer. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach put Cal in the LA Bowl against Boise State, and College Football News has the Golden Bears in the First Responder Bowl against Texas Tech.

The Pac-12 bowl links along with their locations and dates are listed below the showings.
