Table tennis team wins silver : The Tribune India

Amritsar: The table tennis team from Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS), Amritsar won the silver medal at the inter-university table tennis championship from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana. The tournament was organized by GADVASU and all colleges of the university participated in the tournament. The KCVAS team was represented by Anurag, Kartik and Mansimar. Dr. SS Rath, head of the veterinary extension department, accompanied the team as a manager-coach. “We help students in sports and other cultural and extracurricular activities to create versatile veterinarians who are trained and ready to serve society,” said Dr. HK Verma, director of KCVAS.

National Engineer’s Day celebrated

The Electronic Technology Department of Guru Nanak Dev University observed National Engineer Day to recognize and honor the achievements of the great engineer Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya under the able leadership of Vice Chancellor Jaspal Singh Sandhu. Professor Shalini Bahel, Head of Department, addressed the students and faculty. She recognized the role of engineers in bringing technology to our daily lives. Prof Ravinder Singh Sawhney, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, said the day was dedicated to brilliant engineers working in various sectors. He said that in India we commemorate this day in honor of Visvesvaraya.
