Vadya and Vani shine at table tennis: The Tribune India

Vadya of St Stephen’s School, Sector 45 won the Men’s U-13 title beating Abhinav Kumar of Sector 50 Sports Complex (11-6, 11-5, 11-2) in the 2nd Table Tennis Tournament of the classification of Chandigarh State in progress.

In the semi-finals, Vadya defeated Ankush (11-3, 11-7, 11-6), while Kumar dominated Abhinav (11-7, 11-7, 6-11, 11-7).

Vani from St Joseph’s School won the Women’s U-13 title by recording a victory (11-7, 11-7, 5-11, 11-9) against Teetiksha from Tender Heart School. In the semis, Teetiksha beat Sherell (11-5, 11-9, 12-8) and Vani beat Bhavya (11-4, 9-11, 11-4, 11-9). Teetiksha, meanwhile, won the U-15 title beating Vani (10-12, 9-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-8) after a neck and neck battle.

In the semis, Vani beat Prabhleen (11-8, 11-6, 11-5) and Teetiksha overpowered Sherell (11-1, 11-4, 11-9). Pritish won the men’s U-15 final beating Vadya (9-11, 14-12, 11-8, 11-9).

Earlier in the semi-finals, Vadya beat Vishal (9-11, 11-6, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9) and Pritish recorded a comeback (9-11, 2-11, 11-5 , 11-6, 11-9) win over Nilesh.

Vishal beat Samarth Sharma (11-9, 9-11, 11-1, 11-8) of Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra to win the U-17 men’s final. In the semifinals, Vishal beat Arnav Aggarwal (11-5, 11-7, 12-10), while Sharma beat Nilesh (11-9, 11-4, 11-8). Pelf won the Women’s U-17 title beating Neha of Manav Mangal School, Sector 21. Pelf recorded a victory (11-6, 11-8, 11-5). In the semi-final, Neha beat Cherrish (7-11, 11-5, 11-5, 12-14, 11-8) and Pelf shut out Vaani (11-6, 12-10, 11-9).
