Varun from Karnataka takes victory: The Tribune India

Varun Kashyap of Karnataka managed to overcome a tough challenge from Harshit Kumar of Bihar in the second leg of the
UTT National Ranking North Zone Table Tennis Championship at Sector 78 Sports Complex here today.
Kumar held his opponent in suspense. However, Kashyap managed to win the last game to register the victory (11-1, 3-11, 11-6, 5-11 and 11-7).
Delhi’s Atherva Gupta also struggled before defeating Punjab’s Vanad Kumar, who was due to win the last two games to beat the boy from Punjab. The Delhi boy won (8-11, 11-6, 11-13, 11-7 and 11-4). Aaron Gupta from Rajasthan managed to beat Daksh Khandelwal from Delhi to win (11-7, 7-11, 7-11, 11-9 and 11-8), while Siddhant Kataria from Haryana also beat Arjav Gupta from Delhi ( 8-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5 and 11-5) to rekindle hope. The match between Dhyey Jain from Gujarat and Arjit Das from National Center of Excellence, Kolkata also stretched with the victory of the boy from Gujarat (11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 5-11 and 12-10 ).
Aashish Jain from Delhi started and ended well after Shreyas Mane from Maharashtra gave her some scorching hot moments. Jain defeated Mane (11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 7-11 and 11-9). Oishik Ghosh of Bengal was unlucky as he lost (3-11, 11-7, 11-9, 10-12 and 9-11) to Navaneeth Kutty of TNTTA. Haryana’s Rishabh Mayank defeated Rohan Dani, a TTFI wildcard participant, (11-6, 9-11, 11-8, 2-11 and 11-2) in a bottom group. However, Rajkhowa Roy, also a wild card, beat Shrisha Roy of Bengal (12-10, 9-11, 11-4, 9-11 and 11-8).
